Tammy Fisher
MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S

I help frustrated couples who struggle with constant arguing and/or disconnection learn ways to communicate in order to have a more peaceful, satisfying relationship…but my clients will tell you that my real expertise is helping them understand themselves and their partner in a deeper, more meaningful way that naturally reduces conflict and inspires loving interactions.

Relationships are hard. Only our closest loved ones can stir up our most intense feelings of emotional pain, disappointment and shame. We often respond to these emotions with anger, withdraw, control or resistance which leads to conflict and emotional distance. Having disagreements in a relationship is expected. We all have our own ways of seeing, feeling and thinking about things. The key to a healthy relationship is to be able to acknowledge the differences and communicate in a way that is genuine, supportive and understanding.

My approach is to help you understand each other at a much deeper level and apply new tools that will help you communicate in ways that make conflict much easier to navigate when it arises. Couples are complex with their own unique way of seeing an issue, so I utilize a variety of techniques tailored to your situation to help with getting to the root of the problem to create long, lasting change.

I have extensive training in couples specific techniques and tools and have been seeing couples for 10 years. I call upon my training, experience and sense of humor to help you create the relationship you want.

I received a BA degree in Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I went on to complete a Master’s Degree at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I am dual licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and a Licensed Professional Marriage & Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S). In addition to seeing clients, I provide supervision services to clinicians who are working on their required hours for licensure.
